Float-on / Float -off is an excellent yacht transport method used to load, transport, and off-load heavy yachts without lifting. This is accomplished by semi-submersible carriers designed to take on water, becoming a floating marina where the transported yacht can simply be floated over the submerged portion of the carrier and secured into place. The carrier then deballasts and resurfaces underneath the cargo.
For the Lift-on / Lift-off yacht transportation method, cranes & derricks are used to transport a wide range of vessels, by loading and discharging over the top of the carrier. Whether on board of the carrier or on shore, these powerful cranes lift the boat and place it in the perfect prearranged position on the carrier. Ensuring that the slings are correctly positioned, the weight is evenly distributed, and everything is exactly where it belongs.
Typical Schedule
- Initial contact from owner leads to research of vessel by EU Yacht Delivery and quotation is offered.
- Transport is confirmed for passage.
- Liaison between EU Yacht Delivery and the owner to confirm boat is ready for delivery, and if not what steps need to be taken.
- Arrangements are made with the marina/shipping company for lift out.
- Vessel arrives at the specified destination.
